Fire in Space and Other Experiments Launch to Space Station SundayA spacecraft carrying cargo to the International Space Station is scheduled to launch Sunday (Oct. 16), and it's packed full of new science experiments. The Cygnus cargo spacecraft will launch toward the station atop an Antares rocket, both of which are built by the private spaceflight company Orbital ATK. The launch is scheduled for 8:03 p.m. EDT (0003 Oct. 17 GMT) from Pad-0A at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia, and it may be visible to observers all along the U.S. East Coast, weather permitting.
